  18. When you install WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows on a DEC Alpha or MIPS R4000
  19. computer the installation fails and the following error message appears:
  20.  
  21.    Application Error: INSTALL caused an Illegal Instruction in module
  22.    INSTALL.EXE at 0001:03E6."
  23.  
  24. CAUSE
  25. =====
  26.  
  27. When Windows NT runs on a RISC processor such as the DEC Alpha or MIPS
  28. R4000, 16-bit Windows emulation only supports standard mode.
  29.  
  30. The code for WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows INSTALL.EXE includes specific
  31. Intel 386 instructions, which will not run on the 286 emulator provided
  32. under Windows NT on the RISC-based platforms.
